I am a writer…sounds like a confession doesn’t it?
Well it sort-of is. Writing is my passion, it’s who I am and what I do. If I’m not writing I’m thinking about writing or researching a writing project, or reading other people’s writing.
I have a 1st Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing, and an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing from the University of Essex. Before that I studied with the Open University in a wide variety of subject areas. I have always been a compulsive learner and have studied in one shape or form all of my life; I could read well before I went to school, at the age of four. I have just (Dec 2016) applied to the University of Essex for PhD research/study.
In my leisure time, I like to knit, crochet, do crosswords and bake though of late, walking has overtaken these more sedentary pastimes. I walk in Wales and around the UK, wherever and whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I am always on the lookout for my next project – the next walk, the topic to write about, the next story.
Words are my method of research. I hope to incite others to question, to think, to do their own research. Most of all I hope to incite others to get off their electronic devices, get out into this beautiful country we inhabit and spend some time seeing, hearing, smelling, touching and yes, even tasting, the world around them.
